From June 4-6, 2025, World TEAM Sports (WTS), The Center for Discovery (TCFD), and the Dolber Family Foundation proudly hosted the 15th annual Adventure TEAM Challenge: NY (ATC: NY)—a milestone weekend filled with courage, connection, and inclusive adventure.
Set against the breathtaking backdrop of TCFD’s Catskills campus, this year’s Challenge welcomed residents, staff, and volunteers for three unforgettable days of resilience and joy. Most notably, the 2025 edition marked a milestone for 12 of the Center’s residents: for the first time, these individuals with profound physical and cognitive challenges—including medically fragilities—actively participated in ATC: NY for the very first time, thanks to continued innovations in adaptive programming.
The weekend kicked off with a high-energy opening ceremony. Performances by the Dance Team and a stirring rendition of the national anthem by resident Antoine brought set the tone for event. During the ceremony, the Osaic Foundation presented a generous $1,500 donation to support future programming at The Center.

From there, the action began. Field games sparked team spirit among the Yellow Jackets, Green Gators, Red Tide, and Blue Steel—each team exemplifying cooperation and encouragement. Every activity was designed with customization in mind, ensuring that all residents could participate fully and joyfully. After a morning of teamwork in the sun, the excitement continued at the pool—an experience many residents were enjoying for the very first time.
“Witnessing the camaraderie, determination, and shared joy among WTS staff, our residents, and TCFD staff is incredibly moving and inspiring,” said Dr. Theresa Hamlin, President and CEO of The Center for Discovery. “And yes, the pool was a hit—especially with World TEAM’s enthusiastic participation!”
The event’s powerful finale took place at Morningside Park with the signature regatta. There, residents—many of whom rely on wheelchairs—were gently lifted into adaptive boats by trained staff using secure sling systems. Once safely seated, they joined volunteers and teammates for a scenic cruise around the lake. The beaming smiles and contagious joy were a clear reminder of the weekend’s impact.

“This program is one of our favorites of the year,” said World TEAM President and CEO Jon Brideau. “It gives our team a deeper appreciation for the personalized care TCFD provides. The pool was an incredible addition—we saw firsthand the peace and happiness it brought to the athletes. We’re grateful for Lon Dolber’s leadership and the generous support from our partners at the Osaic Foundation.”
