Bloomington, Illinois

Howard Hill joined Word T.E.A.M. in May 2017 as the organization’s Logistics Director. In his role, Howard is responsible for program coordination and working with volunteers and outside resources. In June of 2016, he retired from his career at State Farm Insurance where he was involved in project coordination, real estate disposition and education and training.

Howard first became involved with World T.E.A.M. when State Farm served as the presenting sponsor for the 2010 Sea to Shining Sea, as a member of the ride staff. That ride, he says, changed his life. After Sea to Shining Sea, he purchased his first road bike and joined the 2011 Face of America Gettysburg as a participant. Continuing to be involved in the organization’s activities, he was asked to coordinate and oversee the 2014 CanAm Veteran’s Challenge. Since that time, he has been involved in other Face of America Gettysburg, along with Adventure Team Challenge Colorado, and Face of America Liberty.

Dedicated to helping others, Howard was a head mentor and fundraising adviser for the Leukemia-Lymphoma’s TEAM in TRAINING program for many years. During that time he completed 13 marathons and numerous half marathons to benefit Leukemia research. Injuries have slowed his running, but he continues to be an active cyclist in the community.

Currently living in Bloomington, Illinois, Howard is married to wife, Sherry. In 2016 and 2017, Sherry ran the Marine Corps Marathon, raising funds to benefit World T.E.A.M. She also rode Face of America Gettysburg in 2017. Together, they have four children and eight grandchildren.
