When Bill Soloway was in need of a life-saving heart transplant, a heart soon became available. Jim Zimmerman Sr. lost his son James after a tragic accident, but the veteran was an organ donor and Bill received James’ heart along with a new chance at life. After the transplant, Bill and Jim connected and formed a strong bond over the years, especially over their love of football. Bill is a Philadelphia Eagles fan while Jim loves the Pittsburgh Steelers even though he had never been to a football game. That all changed when Bill gave Jim the surprise of a lifetime. Not only did he book two tickets for he and Jim to see the Steelers play for the very first time, Steelers linebacker TJ Watt surprised Jim with the news he won the 2022 fan of the year after Bill nominated him for the honor.

This year will be Bill’s third ride as a marshal at World T.E.A.M.’s Face of America Gettysburg. Jim will be attending this year’s event to support Bill and all our veteran riders at the finish line on Sunday, April 23.
