Soldiers to the Summit Himalayan Expedition

October 28, 2010 Newsletter

From the tranquility of the Himalayas, to the hustling and bustling chaos of Kathmandu, and now the reality of home, we have experienced three great extremes. All are part of a great Expedition and lifetime experience for which we are deeply indebted to you for your support.

As we hope you can imagine, the enormity of the Expedition and the scale of the Himalayas can be difficult to absorb. Lobouche and Kala Pattar were just the symbols of our goal to use the experiences of the Expedition to help us all “summit” our future personal goals and challenges. We also hope others will be encouraged by the Expedition to new challenges and accomplishments.

I would also like to comment it is inconceivable that you could have put 33 such diverse people together in such a challenging environment and have a better or more supportive team. All the injured military clearly demonstrated their courage, resilience and commitment to the Expedition goals. We are very proud of them!

Our experienced Everest climbers and guides fully immersed themselves with the team and not only provided incredible leadership, but great friendship and large doses of humor. We had terrific film crew of 7 from Serac Films and 4 trekkers who were all important contributors to the Soldiers to the Summit success!
